She's a gray cat with stripes over her back and head, as well as a chubby body and stubby paws. She's always described as very sociable and happy, loves her family, and enjoys outdoor activities as well as slacking off at home.
Her name comes from the Irish word "puisín", which means "kitty". Many of you have seen her on Facebook, but the truth is that this kitty was born as the protagonist of a webcomic under her name.
She first appeared on May 28th 2010 in a series of comics created by Claire Belton who, along with Andrew Duff, founded the page Everyday Cute. Due to its huge success, it soon became the original Tumblr blog of Pusheen. com.
Its fame grew very quickly, and in a short time her images were shared thousands of times, becoming viral! In 2013, the editorial Simon & Schuster (shúster) published a comic compilation titled "I Am Pusheen the Cat",
which has been translated to more than 12 languages ever since. That same year Facebook launched its stickers functionality, through which images of Pusheen became available to more than one billion users.
