It was bursting apart, so we had to do something about it, because it's a type specimen and extremely important scientifically. We had to humidify the skin to bend it.

We had to remove all the internal stuffing. And then we had to repair it using Japanese tissue paper and we re-did the original stitching.

When we opened up the fish, we found 25 bags of straw. We also found a broken chair from Victorian times.

And we found a scrap of newspaper from the Sydney Morning Herald. I'm very pleased now that it's finished.

We've got a fantastic frame, so it's suspended and much more stable now.
