冰山是如何形成的

Andy has been studying Antarctic ice for 25 years, but even he is blown away by what he's seeing.

Now, that is pretty awesome. That is remarkable. The edge of the ice shelf has just, kind of, disintegrated.

Some of the big pieces look like they could be a mile or more in size.

It's almost like a, sort of, a slow motion explosion. It all pushes outwards very quickly.

Every one of these huge icebergs will slowly drift out to sea. To study how fast that happens,

Andy needs to get closer to the action. We're going to look around and see

if we can find a place where we can land. And if we can, we'll be able to put down an instrument

that will help us monitor the big icebergs that are breaking off as the ice shelf breaks up.
