Yes! We call that slang. Different expressions become popular at different times.

Like, " Sorry Mac, that's none of your beeswax." (That's none of your business. ) What?

Or, "What a funny old bird you are." (Old bird=old person) Now you're just confusing me.

Listen. Me and my sweetheart are going steady, and we're planning on taking his hot rod to see a flick later. (Going steady=seeing your love interest exclusively) And remember nobody puts baby in a corner."(Nobody puts baby in a corner=This person should not be ignored. )

What baby? ! I'm just kidding!
