Hi, everyone, I am Fallon, and today we are going to master commands and imperatives in English and we're going to do it with the incomparable Avengers.
So, first of all, the basics.
Here are a couple of examples of the command form from the Avengers.
- Dread it. Run from it.
All you need to do is have the infinitive form of the verb and drop the to in front of it.
For example, the verb "to like" becomes "like".
You also have to make sure that there's no subject in front of the verb.
Usually you'd say, I go, she sings, my mom works, there's always a subject, right?
With the imperative, all you need is the verb without to.
You could add an exclamation point at the end because often when we speak commands, we shout them.
