They symbolize reunion and togetherness and are considered a good-luck food to bring at a peaceful and happy new year.

They sit in a light yet flavorful brown sugar ginger syrup that is so scrumptious and so refreshing.

We'll start by making the filling.

So this one is my favorite.

This is the black sesame for the black sesame filling.

We are gonna start my toasting this.

It's a little hard to see once they're nicely toasted because the color doesn't really change.

You'll know when it's done when you get that nutty aroma.

Now that it's beautifully toasted, we are going to transfer this to our food processor.
