How do we find the Nash Equilibrium?

Okay, it's someone named Martin Nash. Yeah!

And do you want a special memorial service in the Nash Church opposite Broadcasting House or has that faded now?

So the Nash Equilibrium in this game is quit 1, fight 2.

The Nash Equilibrium is as follows.

Once again, we want to find out what the Nash Equilibrium is in this game and our method is exactly the same.

The Nash Equilibrium (Dd, R) corresponds to the one we found by backward induction.

Let's try and find out the Nash Equilibrium of this game.

So now, can everyone see why there's not going to be a Nash Equilibrium in pure strategies?

So, here we've concluded that the Nash Equilibrium of this game is down right, a very particular prediction, but notice a perfectly rational player could here, could choose middle.

We solved for the Nash Equilibrium in the sub-game.

So Beatrice won this election, is this array a Nash Equilibrium?

Now, I will need the other board; I want to figure out the Nash Equilibrium on this game.

So what I'm going to do is I'm going to show you that this will in fact be a Nash Equilibrium by showing you payoffs.

Of course the fight doesn't take place: out followed by " we would have fought had you entered." So these are the Nash Equilibria.

Here's a - c over 2b and here's a - c over b. So this is the total quantity produced on this equilibrium, in this Cournot Nash Equilibrium.

这是 a - c 除以 2b， 这是 a - c 除以 b。

So now, let's find the Nash Equilibrium in this game.

What was our sophisticated mathematical technique for finding the Nash Equilibria on this game?

The reason it helps is you're trying to coordinate onto a Nash Equilibrium.

If you just mechanically find the Nash Equilibria in a game, you're going to find people choosing actions that, if they ever were called upon to make them, are silly.
