Unfortunately, increased taxation tends to go hand-in-hand with disproportionately growing bureaucracies, and therefore the deadweight loss of government spending is ever-increasing.
On the other hand, at least a part of the government's expenditure is a deadweight loss because it remunerates the bureaucrats and politicians involved in the redistribution process.
