The four modes that we meet up with both in Anglo-American folk song and fiddle tunes are the Ionian (major scale), Mixolydian, Dorian, and Aeolian (natural minor scale).
With the world’s population growing fast and millions getting hungrier every day, the leaders of the rich nations just seem to be fiddling while Rome burns.
So if there ever is any in the town I am staying in, I really love the sound of the fiddle and banjo together and after that I am properly primed for some clubbing.
So pick up the piano, fish your old guitar out of the garage, learn a song or two or just fiddle with the strings, you don't have to be a world-class musician, a little practice goes a long way.
