Participants who were asked how much power they had at work before making their bets staked more (and lost more) than people of similar seniority who were only asked about their roles after deciding what to gamble.
That way, opinions about thoughts are less closely tied to the seniority of the thinker and can be tested against each other with less fear or favour (though some degree of second-guessing is probably unavoidable).
Unlike any other corporate structure that exists, flat companies are exactly that… flat. Meaning there are usually no job titles, seniority, managers, or executives. Everyone is seen as equal.
