The U.S state department has condemned what it said were the harsh tactics used by Russian police against protesters supporting the jailed opposition leader Alexey Navalny.
The latest police action comes as the opposition accuses President Emmerson Mnangagwa of adopting the same heavy-handed tactics used by his predecessor Robert Mugabe.
The temptation for the authorities is more iron fist, and we see this in the Caribbean with the attacks on alleged drug smugglers coming out of Venezuela.
