The government can implement many types of economic policy, like decreasing people's taxes and creating jobs through public infrastructure projects, but it actually can't just increase the money supply.

" Reserve currency is held in order to support the value of national currencies, " writes Justin Kuepper, international investing expert, on the website International Invest.
There is also a fear that it could damage the US dollar's status as the global reserve currency, and accelerate the use of alternatives such as cryptocurrencies.
One striking consequence of this currency stockpiling is that capital now moves in huge quantities from poorer countries to wealthier ones, rather than vice versa.
