Let me give you one example: Reed College at that time offered perhaps the best calligraphy instruction in the country. Throughout the campus every poster, every label on every drawer, was beautifully hand calligraphed.
The actual story did not as then exist (well, it did, but as a relic buried—except for sixteen handwritten pages, that is—in the earth) , but knowing the story wasn't necessary for me to begin work.
So one of these days, hopefully, I'm just gonna go around and just write some small little handwritten thank you notes but it doesn't have to be as high friction as mailing snail mail to someone.
