Er, no. It's more to do with academic writing conventions, you know, writing a bibliography and how to refer to sources in your text. That sort of thing.
Once you've got the focus, you've got to get reading, it's helpful to look through the bibliographies for all the course modules relating to your topic. And get hold of any books you think you'll need.
This is a book which lists all the published materials on a particular subject, and in some cases gives a brief summary of each item. Very recent research, however, (pause) may not appear in a bibliography.
And of course, then there's the secondary reading, which is, again, relatively limited, but you try and get as much of that into the bibliography as possible, and direct readers to that when you can.
