No one working with these students claims to know how to keep all students in school. Counselors, teachers, and administrators are in the front lines of what seems at times to be a losing battle.
This work is just beginning. In the coming weeks and months, we’ll continue to improve the Scorecard based on what we learn from students, parents, counselors, and colleges themselves.
Both the teachers' union and the school district say they want the same things, smaller class sizes, higher teachers' salaries and more counselors and nurses.
So find an adult that you trust -- a parent, a grandparent or teacher, a coach or a counselor -- and ask them to help you stay on track to meet your goals.
