This memory came back to me one day while I was working at the laundry, and I started seeing the opening scene of a story: girls showering in a locker room where there were no U-rings, pink plastic curtains, or privacy.
The curtains were never drawn, even at night, so guests got a view of the lake and fountains outside which were lit up at night – a very attractive sight.
But it was as though a curtain fell on a lit stage: All his excitement, all his hope and Happiness were extinguished at a stroke, and he stood alone in the darkness, and the glorious spell was broken.
