When it's time to take off, the hydrofoils retract and the sea glider won't fly within a wingspan of the water surface, benefiting from an aerodynamic principle called ground effect to glide along a cushion of air.

Underwater wings called hydrofoils help lift the sea glider, reduce drag and allow for a smooth ride above the waves.

On July 4th, two years ago, he drew ridicule after posting a video of himself vaingloriously surfing a hydrofoil holding an American flag.

The final product could be a propeller for an airplane a ship's hydrofoil or a set of wheels for sports car.

There are two types of ferries: the slow ferry and the hydrofoil.

It's only 20 minutes away by hydrofoil.

The hydrofoil is twice as fast but feels like  you're trapped in an overpriced waiting room that just happens to be moving.
