Objective:To investigate the relationship among the congenital hypodontia of mandibular incisor and malocclusion and the variation of medial distal dimension of mandibular canine.
In this paper, we reported a case that simultaneously had maxillary bilateral impacted central incisors with dilaceration and mandibular bilateral fused lateral incisors and canines.
The paper reports that “the common finding was a narrowing of the mandibular dental arch and a decrease in maxillary arch length, causing an incisor cross-bite.”
Up front, it had long, canine-like teeth for killing prey, but it also had distinct incisors and teeth in back that pointed backward, perfect for dismembering carcasses.
You can see at the front, the incisors, which are for grasping prey or plants, as well as the tusks and the molars, which are for grinding plant material.
