Things like putting a parking lot to higher and better use, which my urbanist self really wants to do, like, you know, build a food truck park, logistics hub, maybe even new housing, a farmer's market.
So, Professor Moreno–he's this famous urbanist. He's from Colombia, but he's lived in France for a long time. And Roman, you and I talked to him. And I found him to be just this really affable guy.
Planners and urbanists care so much about walkability because walkability is part of what makes an urban space feel like a place, someplace where you want to visit and spend money.
But now that Urbanists have pointed out the problem, we're starting to see a return to design elements that subconsciously encourage drivers to take it slow.
