Having the world treat my love life like a spectator sport in which I lose every single game was not a great way to date in my teens and twenties, but it taught me to protect my private life fiercely.
So I'm guessing that all of you have been through a meeting that probably didn't go very well, or a commute that wasn't as great as you would like it, or even burned dinner at night.
But a little bit of self-compassion, going easy on ourselves when things don't go well, can turn those qualities into greater personal peace and success.
