12 These are the descendants of Abraham's son Ishmael, whom Hagar the Egyptian, Sarah's slave, bore to Abraham.

12 以下是撒辣的婢，埃及人哈加尔给巴郎生的依市玛耳的後裔。

1 Abram's wife Sarai had borne him no children. She had, however, an Egyptian maidservant named Hagar.

1 巴郎的妻子撒辣依，没有给他生孩子，她有个埃及婢，名叫哈加尔。

6 Abram told Sarai: " Your maid is in your power. Do to her whatever you please." Sarai then abused her so much that Hagar ran away from her.

6 巴郎对撒辣依说：「你的婢是在你手中；你看怎样好，就怎样待她罢！」於是撒辣依就虐待她，她便由撒辣依面前逃跑了。

If you are not pleased with her, let her go wherever she wishes. You must not sell her or treat her as a slave, since you have dishonored her.

后来你若不喜悦她，就要由她随意出去，决不可为钱卖她，也不可当婢待她，因为你玷污了她。"
