Below the Falls, the foaming water mass squeezes its way through a narrow gorge, creating the Whirlpool Rapids, which you can get to, aboard a jet raft.
Alongside them were clippers of all sizes, steamers of all nationalities, and the steamboats, with several decks rising one above the other, which ply on the Sacramento and its tributaries.
There are some original buildings here, but most of the area has been modernized and is now used as a harbor for all kinds of seacraft including yachts and some amazing powerboats.
