The deserted street could only see occasionally a torpidly-peddling countryman with a worn-out felt cap on his head and a basket of potatoes or turnips on his arm.
He learned to build an oar, and learned to mend the boat, and to weave baskets, and was joyful because of everything he learned, and the days and months passed quickly.
This is what the Lord Almighty says: " Let them glean the remnant of Israel as thoroughly as a vine; pass your hand over the branches again, like one gathering grapes" .
