When Bird Box crossed my path,

I knew this was a story I needed to make, uh, because it was about family.

And when I finished the film, I went to my babies, and I said, "Here, Mommy made this for you".

And what you saw in that movie is what your mommy would do for you.

I was put on this earth to protect you.

You are my world.

I love you so much and I will move mountains to make sure that you are safe.

Yo, yo, we did it!

We did it!

D-Wrek has had a few drinks.

You can have that.

But honestly, I created Wild 'N Out over a decade ago to give my friends like this a job, an opportunity in Hollywood.

And we did it!

We definitely did it!

Uh, and you know what?

I really appreciate the opportunity we got.

This is heavy.

It's very heavy and you're drunk.

So we got 200 episodes airing this summer.

300 that we're shooting.

A small little show created by black men doing it. (A small little show created by black men is doing. )

We did it!

D-Wrek did it!

And we are doing the Wild 'N Out movie, the Wild 'N Out tour.

So we'll be back here next year- Wild 'N!

Wild 'N! Wild'N Out! Get your drunk ass off!

All right, look.

I was there telling them back over there, I said, Look.

I think we're too ratchet to win an award.

But ratchet pay off sometimes, you feel me?

I did a little show called The Fosters, and over the years since I did that show, I learned that external things don't actually make you happy.

They didn't make me happy.

I actually was like, really, really upset while doing that show.

Not because of the show, it's an amazing show.

I just wasn't happy with all of these things outside of myself.

And I found that truly the thing that made me happy, the thing that actually fulfilled me, was not having a successful career,

It was doing what I love and giving back to other people.

Help others, man.

I don't know.

This is crazy.

I'm so grateful.

So, so grateful.

Thank you.

The most powerful thing that we can be is ourselves.

When I first got to Hollywood, Hollywood, they didn't know what the hell to do with me.

I mean, I was this half-black, half-Samoan, six foot four, 275 pound pro-wrestler.

You know, I was told at that time, Well, you gotta be a certain way.

You gotta drop some weight.

You gotta be somebody different.

You gotta stop working out. Stop doing the things that I love.

You gotta stop calling yourself "The Rock".

What?

We love you!

Well, I love you back, thank you.

That's my mom everybody, thank you, Mom.

You know, and, and for years, I actually, I bought into it.

Because you think, "Oh, that's what, that's what I'm supposed to do".

And I was miserable doing that.

So, I made a choice.

And the choice was, I wasn't going to conform to Hollywood,

Hollywood was going to conform to me.

This isn't just a trophy to us, because this really speaks to the important cultural impact that this generated, um, from this documentary.

So, thank you MTV Awards and everyone that voted.

To our survivors and parents, we know the journey does not start or stop with this documentary, but the world is listening now.

Because of your bravery, other girls and boys, and women and men, are now speaking without shame and being heard without judgment.

Because of your courage, you created change.

And you survived.

So, thank you.

Thank you.

I wanted to take this, this moment to really say thank you to two women who are standing here beside me.

Uh, these are the women that trained me and were also the stunt doubles for Captain Marvel.

I could not have made this film without them.

They are really the baseline of who she is.

They are the living embodiment of Captain Marvel.

So, this is Joanna Bennett and this is Renae Moneymaker.

So, say whatever you want!

Go ahead !

A big thank you to Brie for . . . for acknowledging our role in this film.

It's, it's truly a rare acknowledgement and it means so much.

Not only to the both of us, but to the entire stunt community.

So, thank you so much.

Yeah!

Kiss who you wanna kiss, love who you wanna love, and don't let anyone tell you otherwise.

Often we applaud the trails people blaze in the external world that we can see, but very rarely do we applaud the trails that are blazed in the hidden rooms of the mind that are full of uncertainty, false beliefs, and pain.

And it's these internal obstacles that must be challenged, in order to muster the courage to forge new paths that we can see in the world.

Every last person in this room must do that at some capacity.

So, that means that every single person in this room is trailblazing, whether it's within or without.

So, as you honor me tonight,

I want to honor all of you and I want to say, here's to us.

For all of our trailblazing,

Keep it up, and thank you.

Wow, wow, this is so cool. Um. Thank you so much,

MTV. It's not only cool to be holding this popcorn, but to be in this category, which encompasses all performances on television, yet happens to be filled with only badass women.

To all my ladies out there, keep up the fight, I stand right alongside you, and don't let the bastards grind you down.

Thank you.

If I have taken anything, uh, away from making Schitt's Creek, it's that kindness always wins, that love is best served unconditionally, and that wearing sweaters in the dead of summer is a very, very bad idea.

Thank you so much.

Happy Pride, everybody!

A movie like this one is only possible because it's been built upon the shoulders of so much great work and so many talented artists and storytellers, stretching back decades and generations now.

All the way back to its origins with the late, great Stan Lee.

Yes.

For Stan.

And, uh, now I have a couple friends who want to tell you a little bit more about that.

Hello, everybody.

Thank you.

Thank you, thank you.

Uh, firstly, I'd like to thank all the incredible fans, the Marvel friends who have come along with this, in this, this, this amazing journey.

Thank you, a biscuit's great. Um. Also I'd like to thank everyone who created Marvel, you know?

And, and, and the producers, and the directors, and the writers, and all the actors, and everybody who was involved, but most importantly the fans. (most important people is the fans. )

The fans . . .

I've got(gotten) this one.

Okay, sure.

The fans, you know, I'd like to thank as well. And, uh, for voting and giving us, you know, this award.

Right?

Isn't that right, Robert?

Yeah?

Me?

I'm absolutely blown away.

This is incredible.

We poured our heart and souls into this, uh, last film of phase 3.

But, here's the real thing.

It's a director's medium, s o I have to say thank you, Anthony Russo, Russo, Russo, Russo, Russo.

Join me in loving him!

Ah!

All right.

Hugs and kisses to Robert and Chris, and to all of you.

Thank you.
