Hello everybody, my name is Steve Ford and welcome to another English pronunciation lesson.

This video is for all of you Brazilians out there.

All of my Brazilian students, my Brazilian friends and my Brazilian subscribers on YouTube.

So let's go!

One thing that I've notice with Brazilians is they have this thing when they are pronouncing the wordthis word here.

Now, in English, American English, we'll say — "others".

So that "o" sound is sounds like "but", "cut", "shut" — "others".

But what I've noticed with Brazilians is that they will say — "o-thers".

Now, I sudden had a thought about that and because I know Portuguese, it's a lot easier for me to understand why.

And the reason is because "others" in Portuguese is "outros".
