Have you been finding it difficult to get people to like you? Do you get flustered or awkward and end up pushing people away?

Sometimes it can be difficult to know how to get close to people. Whether it's trying to make new friends or find a partner, you may struggle with attracting the right people.

So to help you become more likable, here are five habits that attract people the most. Number one, practicing kindness.

Do you treat others with warmth and care? It's hard to dislike people who are kind, giving, and who can make those around them feel good.

A research published in the "Evolutionary Psychology" journal had even found that when women were presented with two groups of men, one group described as altruistic and the other without that description, they thought the altruistic group was more attractive and more desirable, particularly for long-term relationships. So do something nice for someone today.

You never know who you'll attract. Number two, being a good listener.

Do you talk about yourself a lot? It's not without reason.

A study from Harvard University found that people like talking about themselves a lot. When they talk about what's on their mind, their brains get filled with dopamine, one of the many feel-good hormones.

However, while it may make you feel good, it may turn people away. So a good way to attract people is to show them that you're listening and are paying full attention to them and to what they're saying.

Be more aware of whether or not you're dominating all your conversations. By being a good listener, you are able to show them that you care about them and that you are ready to give them your time and attention, which is incredibly attractive.
