The Communist Party of China’s 19th National Congress has been set to begin on October 18th.
A total of 2,300 delegates from all sectors will attend the congress, where they will discuss the Party’s strategic goals for the next five years.
They will also vote to elect a new Central Committee and a new anti-graft body.

Let’s start with No. 5—Amending the Party constitution.
Exactly one month before the congress begins, the CPC announced that it will revise the Party constitution to include " the key theories and strategic thoughts" at the October congress.
The amended constitution will represent the new governance concepts, thoughts and strategies of the Central Committee since the 18th congress.
It will also incorporate the fresh experiences in strengthening Party leadership and Party governance.
The Party constitution currently in force was adopted at the 12th congress in 1982, and was last amended in 2012.
The 14th congress in 1992 saw market socialism written into the Party constitution.
