Located at one of the busiest crossroads of the university, the fountain was designed to be inhabited and contributes significantly to the public realm of the community in which it is located.
Some historians believe this peak was the site of King Arthur's legendary castle Camelot, which is hardly surprising, as Edinburgh has been at the clashing crossroads of history for millennia.
In relation to the bus station, it's not far going down the high street, if you pass the corner with Cromwell Road then the next junction is a crossroads with Duke Street and Runton Road.
