Jimmy Carter represented what was called the " New South" . He made it clear that he opposed the ideas of the " Old South, " like discrimination against blacks.
Son, look, you're only saying that because you don't know there are two types of racists: there's ones who hate black people and ones who love black people.
But the administration sought to dismiss that case because they said that it wasn't the Black community that was being victimized, but that it was the company that was being discriminated against.
There was, as you probably know, a lot of discrimination against blacks in the 1950s and 60s;there is still that discrimination, but it was much more serious back then and it was part of the law.
