In Para archery, we test our precision by shooting an arrow as close as possible to the center of the target.

We might hold the arrow with hooks, straps, or even our mouths.

We'll find creative ways to make archery work for our different bodies.

At the Paralympics, athletes compete in the Open or W1 classes.

Open is for archers with impairments in the top or bottom half, or one side of their body.

We can compete with a recurve or compound bow.

Shoot standing or seated in a stool or wheelchair.

Using a recurve bow is the traditional archery method.

The target is 70 meters away, just like in the Olympic Games.

A compound bow has pulleys, which help reduce the tension when we pull the arrow back.
