This is the most species-rich and oldest rainforest on earth. 130 million years old.

It's located in the Malaysian part of Borneo. It's still home to 40 tribes and ethnic groups, including the Penan.

In the forest we find wild boars, fruits and medicines. In the forest we feel wonderful, and we're connected with our ancestors.

It reminds us of the beautiful time when the forest was still intact. Their living environment is threatened.

Huge palm oil plantations are eating their way further and further into the ancient forest. And destroying the rainforest ecosystem.

Tong Tana is what the Penan call their home. It means both "forest" and "world".

16,000 Penan live in this part of Malaysia. Only a few dozen are still nomads, roaming the forests like their ancestors did, as hunters and gatherers.

Peng Megut and Tepeket Agun belong to one of the last small communities of forest nomads in Borneo. The men are out in the forest, searching.
