There are some things you just cannot wear to a football game as a player, and the simple reason is because they are banned in the sport.

Some players have actually gotten away with it a few times, but if you're caught with any of these banned accessories on the pitch, you'd be forced to remove it immediately.

So here are 10 banned accessories in football games.

1. Jewelry Once upon a time, players were allowed to wear jewelry during football matches, but not anymore.

The law of the game states that all items of jewelry are forbidden and must be removed during a game.

So, you can wear it while you sit on the bench, during the pre-game warmups, or after the game, but the moment you're on the pitch as a player, you should not have any piece of jewelry on.

Jules Kounde very nearly circumvented this law and played an entire game at the World Cup with a necklace on, but he was caught a few minutes to halftime and was instructed to take it off on the spot.

2. Glasses Yes, glasses are banned for football games.

Now, before you mention Edgar Davids, remember that his glasses were recommended because of his glaucoma which required him to have surgery on his right eye.
